2. Service Description
Vigil provides a personal safety and incident intelligence platform designed to support users in monitoring situations, capturing incident-related information, and organizing that information into structured records.
Features may include:
• Monitoring sessions
• SOS activation
• Audio and contextual data capture
• Incident timelines and summaries
• Trusted contact visibility through user-controlled sharing
Vigil is a tool designed to assist users.
Vigil does not provide emergency services and does not replace law enforcement, emergency responders, or professional assistance.
3. User Control and Authorization
You remain in full control of how Vigil is used.
• You decide when to activate monitoring
• You decide when to escalate to SOS
• You choose your trusted contacts
• You control what information is shared and when
Vigil does not independently initiate monitoring, recording, or sharing.
Any sharing of information occurs only as a result of your actions, settings, or explicit authorization.
4. Trusted Contacts and Live Link
If you use trusted contact features:
• You are responsible for selecting and managing your trusted contacts
• You acknowledge that sharing is initiated by you
• Trusted contacts access information based on your permissions
Vigil acts only as a technical facilitator and does not control how recipients use information once received.
5. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
• Using Vigil lawfully
• Respecting the rights and privacy of others
• Ensuring you have the legal right to record audio or capture information
• Complying with applicable recording and consent laws in your jurisdiction
• Maintaining the security of your device and account
You must not use Vigil for unlawful surveillance, harassment, or any activity that violates applicable laws.
6. Limitations of the Service
Vigil is not guaranteed to function without interruption or error.
Performance may be affected by:
• Device limitations
• Network connectivity
• Battery level
• Operating system restrictions
Vigil does not guarantee:
• Successful recording or data capture
• Continuous availability
• Delivery of alerts or notifications
• Prevention of harm or incidents
Vigil is a supportive tool and must not be relied upon as a sole safety measure.
7. AI-Generated Outputs
Vigil may generate transcripts, timelines, summaries, or other outputs using automated processing.
These outputs:
• May contain inaccuracies or omissions
• Are provided for informational purposes only
• Do not constitute legal, investigative, or professional advice
You are responsible for reviewing and determining how to use or share these outputs.
8. Data Ownership
You retain ownership of your personal data and incident-related information.
Vigil processes data only to provide the service.
Vigil does not sell your personal data.
9. Account and Access
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and device.
You must notify Vigil if you believe your account has been compromised.
Vigil may suspend or restrict access in cases of misuse or violation of these Terms.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vigil Intelligence Ltd shall not be liable for:
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Any failure of the service to operate as expected
• Any actions taken by users or trusted contacts
• Any loss of data, recordings, or evidence
• Any personal injury, harm, or incident occurring before, during, or after use of the service
Use of Vigil is at your own risk.
11. Changes to the Service or Terms
Vigil may update or modify the service or these Terms at any time.
Where changes are material, reasonable notice will be provided.
Continued use of Vigil after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
